It is a huge advantage to have this calculator but it is no good if you are not confident in using it. There are alot of features on this calculator that will allow you to do some Math that you have always been doing but now the calculator will do it for you. 

Main Screen

This is the screen of your TI Nspire calculator.

It is divided up into sections with each section to help you with different topics.

It can be a little bit confusing at the beginning to figure out which functions are for which sections. I will break this down as we progress through this course. 

First step is to get comfortable using the calculator normally so just solving simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division etc. 

There are 3 ways of getting to the regular calculator screen:

1st Method

To use your calculator for the basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division then go to: 

1. Calculate
2. Type the math problem and then hit enter

2nd Method

1. New 
2. Add Calculator
3. Type your math problem and enter

3rd Method

Click on the button shown below. It takes you straight to the regular calculator screen:

Below are some functions on your calculator that will help you to answer questions: 

To change a fraction to decimal:

1. CRTL 
2. Enter 
3. The calculator will convert the fraction to a decimal 

Brackets:

Putting brackets around certain parts of the question:

Indices:

Putting an integer to the power of a number. 

Type the number then hit the button indicated and then type the power
